What to Know

Critics Consensus

Putting director Sam Raimi's penchant for diabolical mayhem to great use, Send Help doesn't need any assistance in thrills thanks to a very game Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien along with a viciously clever script.

Audience Says

Rachel McAdams is Linda Liddle in Send Help, a Raimi-delivered, unhinged survival horror thriller that keeps you guessing and laughing -- and you best don’t confuse her kindness for weakness.

It’s enjoyably lurid stuff, and McAdams is a blast. It’s just a pity that a third-act twist seems a little too familiar. Go to Full Review

It gets heavy-handed at times, and it’s too long by about 20 minutes, but it’s still Raimi’s best film in years. Go to Full Review

Aidan Proko 3h While some of the genre-blending goes too far in so many directions at some points, it has that Sam Raimi camp and horror that hasn’t left him since The Evil Dead. If you’re looking for a wild night at the movies, this is a good bet. Rachel McAdams is a powerhouse and Dylan O’Brien is so deliciously douchebagery. Highly recommend See more Celine 3h A bit of a slow-burn towards the beginning, but absolutely worth it once it gets going. Hilarious, gorey & tons of fun!! See more Lamar U 4h Fun movie ...oh wow the amazing ending never saw it coming See more summer 4h really good funny and dark See more Chuck 6h Lots of twists and turns. See more Jamar G 7h Ffirst and foremost, I'm a 3D movie buff and I think the 3D was well used in this film.  Especially during the scenes with the plane crash, the wild boar hunt, and the hike in the mountains. The effects were primarily used to enhance the depth. I thought the audio was mixed well too. Especially when the plane started to come apart and you could hear some of the debris shoot across the auditorium. As far as the film goes, I think it was great. It may not hit all the buttons to garner a 5-star rating from the purported stuffy old codgers that make up the board for The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Oscars) but for me, it got pretty close. I think great art evokes emotions and during this movie, I found myself at certain points rooting for things to happen and wanting to give some armchair advice on how to navigate certain predicaments. Trust me, it was more complex than just the typical painting a person in a bad light and hoping to see their comeuppance. There were varying shades of gray here and neither the antagonist or the protagonist were squeaky clean, goody two shoes but I'm betting moviegoers will be pleased with the outcome. The current landscape of this industry is laden with sequels and the only regret I had after watching this film is knowing that it was a "one and done" and that there won't be a sequel somewhere down the line.
