Some folks will do anything to pinch a penny, and when a pair of lifelong friends discovers that they can evade the taxman by pretending to be a loving gay couple, their worries are just beginning in this comedy starring Paul Hogan and Michael Caton. Though their simple plan seems to go off without a hitch at first, the arrival of a by-the-books tax inspector threatens to blow the lid off of their inventive scheme. Now, with the IRS on their back and the pressure mounting, the stage is set for a series of comic misadventures you won't forget in this warmhearted tale of friendship and the eternal quest to beat the taxman at his own game. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I want to yell at the filmmakers for sticking to such a tired formula, but I just can't. They made me smile too much.

A series of hilarious moments along with some astute insight.

Shadows on the Wall

one of the best Australian films in years. The teaming of Hogan and Michael Caton is just sublime.

This comedy about mateship is not the hilarious romp we wish for, but relies on key casting of Hogan and Caton to squeeze every drop of goodwill and humour from its premise.

Audience Reviews for Strange Bedfellows

Very funny film. The American version of course is the 'Chuck and Larry' movie which isn't half as funny.

It tried so, so hard. This movie really did nothing but remind me why I dislike that set of straight people (and gay people for that matter) who insist on knowing everyone's sexuality and sexual habits. The comedic moments weren't worth it, and I really don't think Paul Hogan's character learned anything, unlike his companion. So... yeah... not a good movie.

I Know Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, only released 3 years earlier in Australia with Croc Dundee as Adam Sandler!! Both were bad, but at least this version gets away with some stuff because of its foreign charm. Still, not great.
