  • A satisfying enough, bullet-strewn B-movie set in postapocalyptic Western Canada.

  • SuperGrid fails to offer anything new to the dystopian road movie subgenre, but it handles the expected tropes in a confident and enjoyable fashion

  • It has a "can do" spirit that makes one smile at the fact that something this ambitious could be made on a modest budget, but it's too inconsistent and slight to ever be considered a cult or genre classic.

  • It's more of a cheesy snack than something one can make a meal of.

  • Throw in a few vaguely futuristic terms - Jacks, Overwatch - and a cameo by pro wrestler Jay Reso, and you've got a distinctly Canadian take on the genre. Because apocalypse starts with an "Eh."

  • A lower-key Road Warrior. While no one would confuse the many highway fire-fights and head-shot kills with the big-budget carnage in a tent-pole action feature, director Dean moves it along with the requisite urgency and noise.
