Although Judgment Day has in fact occurred, the future for which John Connor (Christian Bale) was prepared has been partly altered by the appearance of a stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington). Connor must determine if Wright has been rescued from the past, or sent from the future. As the machines prepare for a final battle, Connor and Wright delve deep into Skynet's heart, uncovering a secret that could lead to the annihilation of mankind.

I walked out of the cinema after Terminator Salvation with a long sigh more than anything else. It isn’t a total disaster, but it feels like a missed opportunity in a franchise that should’ve hit much harder. The idea of a full future-war setting with John Connor actually in the fight sounded great on paper, but the execution is strangely flat. Christian Bale tries to bring intensity as Connor, but the story doesn’t give him much to work with. Sam Worthington’s character arc is more interesting than expected, but even that ends up feeling predictable. The action looks decent at times, but it lacks the tension and creativity the earlier films had. It feels like a big-budget movie that forgot to make you care about what’s happening. Overall, it is a /10, it’s watchable, but disappointing. I expected a strong continuation of the saga and instead got something that just…exists.

How was it actually...Good? This movie was as good as the third one with even better art. Plot's good. And I don't want to spoil it but there's a smart twist in the movie. Definitely recommend it.

Missing the point as to why this movie flopped. After Terminator 2, the story line remains the same. Good v bad defending and attacking John Connor. This film takes to post nuclear LA, various Terminators, totally different story line. A great story line, good acting , graphics, all round good movie.

In an attempt to rally the base, Salvation diverts to a more serious tone away from the comedic antics that turned so many off with T3. Bale and Worthington give us their best attempt with the material but this dark movie never seems to find its way to any real salvation for the series.
