GirlPowerFlagAtl T @RT44426288 Aug 14 Funny. Lovable characters. A SOLID comedy in general but considering that it is LGBTQ friendly is a major plus. Not sure if I know a funnier movie in that category. Will watch again! See more Surya K @Surya_Komal_critic Aug 11 Some independent comedies are funny because they constantly chase jokes, while others become funny simply by putting flawed people into increasingly disastrous situations. The Box Trap, written and directed by Meg Poveromo, falls comfortably into the latter category. It is a lively, colorful, deliberately silly LGBTQ+ film that builds its identity around an intentionally chaotic protagonist and a community that is just as eccentric as she is. What impressed me most is how confidently the film commits to its tone. Ultimately, The Box Trap is a charming disaster comedy that understands its own personality. Its colorful presentation, flawed protagonist, playful ensemble and consistently goofy tone come together into an entertaining viewing. You have to give yourself over to its energy, but once you do, there is plenty to enjoy in this messy, funny and surprisingly heartfelt story. See more Read all reviews
