It's like one of those great Horizon episodes from the 1980s or 90s, before all science docs started sounding as if they were written for overexcited seven-year-olds. Go to Full Review

The two Voyager space probes are the subjects of this appropriately epic documentary, full of lavish visuals, brain-frying statistics and infectiously enthusiastic Nasa boffins. Go to Full Review

It's rare for a film to make one swell with pride about something he or she had no direct hand in, but "The Farthest" accomplishes that feat with aplomb. Go to Full Review

This is a documentary that, whilst being about space, ends up truly reflecting upon the human experience. Go to Full Review

Emily T. @InsufficientTaco Nov 30, 2025 Incredible watch, inspirational, one of my favorite space documentaries of all time. See more Torin F @nonlinearize Nov 23, 2023 As THE FARTHEST will help viewers appreciate, its difficult to overstate the inspired technical and exploratory brilliance of the Voyager mission, which for the first time enabled a profound understanding of our solar system that we now take for granted. The film itself is accessible, informative and awesome in the proper sense of the word, chronicling a bold endeavor that reflects our species at its best. See more Mar 9, 2021 What a spectacular film and story. I learned some amazing things about the Voyager missions and those who helped make the mission such a success. Really shows you what we can do as a species. Puts things into perspective and is really inspiring! Great film. See more Nov 5, 2020 Brilliantly put together documentary about one of man's greatest achievements See more Jun 2, 2019 At first misguided, but it's nonetheless still a fascinating journey with stunning imagery being frighteningly immersive in an exciting way as the archival revelations and passionate knowledge solidly marks this documentary as essential wonder towards the universe's definition as well being generically thought-provoking when looking at the never-ending sky. (A-) See more Mar 27, 2019 An awe inspiring documentary looking at the missions of Voyager 1 and 2. Considering they were made in the early '70s, therefore using '70s technology, it's amazing that spacecrafts will outlive the human species as they are predicted to be able to travel for a billion years. We will long have laid waste to our beautiful planet Earth and god knows where we will be. This documentary focuses on mission objectives and accomplishments as told by interviewees who were directly involved in the projects and the documentary also shows us the stunning pictures sent back to us of other planets by the Voyagers. For anyone even mildly interested in outer space this is a must watch documentary. See more Read all reviews
