Two distant cousins who've never met -- one in NYC, the other in the smallest town there is in Ireland -- come together to finally put an end to a generations-long family feud. It doesn't go well. The Problem With People, set in beautifully lush Irish countryside, is a heartwarming comedy about family, world peace... and sheep.

It's ostensibly a comedy, but I don't think I ever laughed. Go to Full Review

The script is co-written by the American actor Paul Reiser, with a very broad sense of humour, though it’s likable enough. Colm Meaney is also on decent form as undertaker Ciáran. Go to Full Review

While the comedic script... favors stereotypes to specificity, director Chris Cottam keeps the rhythm humming nicely enough for its 100-minute running time for the film to be mildly amusing. Go to Full Review

A tourist-board tale painted in broad strokes, The Problem with People is sentimental, but likeable all the same. Go to Full Review

... A harmless bit of oirish frippery that makes good use of two veteran character actors. Go to Full Review

Kian O @Kianoneed Jan 4 The movie was full of cliches, stereotype, no real cultural specificity, and forced identity cliches. Barry's sudden Jewish practice and his daughter's gay marriage felt forced or a "required" elements rather than natural development of the plot. See more Go 4 I @RT69553120 Nov 15 Jokes and humor pretty predictable. The third act was forced and not part of the story line. Forced Hollywood message. See more Howard A @RT70908423 04/28/2025 I disagree mightily with Claudia P. Definitely a keeper! Hysterical casting of Paul and Colm who fill every scene with laughter. Nice sidebar with Paul's "daughter." Lovely accents including Brooklynese. See more Roy s @Roymeboy 04/13/2025 It was slated as a comedy but very few comedy scenes to be sure. The scenery was typical Ireland (I have been there 30+ times as my father from County Clare (Kilkee) and I live in New Jersey. See more Read all reviews
