Though absent from his ancestral home of Blackmoor for many years, aristocrat Lawrence Talbot returns to find his missing brother at the request of the latter's fiancée, Gwen. As for the epic battle pitting werewolf versus werewolf -- let’s just say it couldn’t be any less frightening had the filmmakers elected to pit Pekingese against Poodle.

Where the film suffers is its lack of involvement in the crucial levels of emotion and suspense, the driving forces of the original film. Had those essential elements of the story been developed further, this would be an effortless recommendation.

Had all the right elements. Benicio Del Toro was well fitted to play the doomed hero. The main actors were all very good as was the atmosphere. But seemed too much like trying to hit the marks without the true depth needed. I enjoyed the film but could have been a new Classic

Loved the action and makeup. Rick Baker actually paid homage to Jack b Pierce who created the original makeup in the 1941 wolfman. Emily blunt was awesome also in this movie and benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins a top notch cast. And the dark Gothic feel of the movie in London and in the Moors was beautifully filmed.

It's not too bad being a werewolf. You get to eat as much as you can raw black pudding, run really fast (you can't believe the speeds I reached), and be really strong. Power to the lycanthropes..;;.
