T G @sagehen May 21 What It Takes is an emotional journey through a world I would otherwise have never seen (well, hopefully). The delightful characters introduced show the humanity in us all - our talents and failings. This movie brings empathy and solutions to an area (addiction in jails) sorely in need of help. I really enjoyed it! See more Stacey T @iamstacey May 20 "What It Takes" by Jeff Shulman is truly a must-see documentary. It is not only informative, but deeply moving in the way it sheds light on addiction to drugs and alcohol. What stood out most was the honesty and transparency of those strong people sharing their personal battles. Equally impactful were the family members who openly shared their experiences, showing that addiction like any other diseas does not discrimate. This documentary encourages us to lead with love, compassion, and understanding for those fighting addiction. We may not always understand or agree with the choices, but we should advocate not only for our own family and friends, but for others who are fighting this battle as well. The Q&A session made the experience even more powerful, hearing audience members share their sobriety journeys.
