It's another season of the same stuff ...other than an emergency medical evac resulting in the use of four IVs and medications! Surprisingly, it's a short competition lasting only 30 something days, and without northern winter too. It’s honestly quite dull. The participants come across as having little to no personality, and most of the dialogue sounds monotone and heavily scripted. What’s especially frustrating is the lack of actual survival effort. They keep talking about how dangerous their part of Africa is, yet don’t even build proper shelters—they’re just sleeping out in the open on the ground. There’s barely any real survival skill on display, which is kind of the whole point of the show. At this stage, it feels like the creators have lost sight of what made it engaging in the first place. I'm not going to share any spoilers, but let's just say almost nothing happens. It may have been the shortest ever in real time and a desert environment just changed the game so much, it's almost unrecognizable to fans.
