A sensitive and funny ten-episode series that shines a light on how the patriarchy damages those it ostensibly favors as well as those it traditionally subjugates. Go to Full Review

Alpha Males is just funny enough to keep us watching, especially as the men in the cast find themselves increasingly powerless with regards to how the women in their lives assert themselves. Go to Full Review

... A quite estimable TV comedy that takes off laying the foundations of its own identity. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Eluxe M @RT69001096 Jun 12, 2026 Alpha Males has the potential for great laughs - there are some great lines - but it leans towards feeling preachy and 'woke'. It claims to be a 'feminist' comedy at the end of the day, but in all honestly, most of the female characters are absolutely loathsome and unsympathetic. Of the male characters, the apparently 'most macho' of them all, Pedro, is possibly the kindest, most responsible and honest of them all, sending mixed messages about this show. See more Jessica W @RT42109299 May 22, 2026 My favourite show in a long time! It's feels like a blend of Sex in the City and Friends but from a male perspective in Madrid. Also helps with learning colloquial Spanish. If future societies wanted to understand the dating scene and problems of our time this encapsulates them in funny and unexpected ways. Both my boyfriend and I are enjoying giggling along to this! See more Michael Shane B @KVD1969 Jan 7, 2026 In a world embracing shifting gender roles, four lifelong friends are forced to dismantle their outdated views on patriarchy when they realize their "alpha" status is becoming obsolete. As they enroll in a "de-macho-fication" seminar, they must navigate crumbling marriages and career crises to find a new definition of manhood. See more sofia m @RT78484901 Mar 31, 2025 As a female viewer, I found the first season of Machos Alfa to be funny, light, and entertaining. I appreciated how it tackled themes of modern society and the pressures placed on men and women today. However, as the seasons progressed, the show felt increasingly repetitive, superficial, and at times, even a bit absurd. Perhaps it’s an unintentional reflection of the world we live in today? Or a lack of inspiration on where to go next? See more Sanja D @RT31853727 Jan 18, 2025 They are awesome 🤩 See more Marco L @decatur555 Jan 14, 2025 The third season of Alpha Males works because its four protagonists are not monsters or simple caricatures: they are middle-aged men trying, usually badly, to understand a world that has changed faster than they have. The Caballeros use masculinity, relationships, feminism and changing social rules as comedy first and social commentary second, avoiding the feeling of a weekly lecture. Gorka Otxoa, Fernando Gil, Raúl Tejón and Fele Martínez have terrific chemistry, while the women are wisely allowed to be just as contradictory and imperfect. Not every exaggerated gag lands, but the best ones work because beneath them lies something recognizable: people learning new vocabulary while still operating with old instincts. You laugh at them, and occasionally realize you have done something very similar yourself. See more Read all reviews
