See more Alex J @RT51904888 Jun 27 Star Wars is so heavily tied with the emotions of good vs evil that we never truly explore what evil looks like at a galactic scale until Andor. Stunning visuals and its score stand out - and this is Star Wars we’re talking about, so that’s a high bar - and then there’s the acting. There are several superlative performances, and even still Skarsgård delivers such a sublime Luthen that he needs to be singled out. This show respects the giant shoulders it stands on while giving us a new, compelling angle to see the galaxy through. It manages to both tell its own story in an excellent manner and enhance the stories that came before it - a truly rare feat. From the first minute of Ep 1 to the season finale, every scene delivers. In the pantheon of all-time great TV, Andor deserves consideration. Gilroy’s magnum opus is so deep that the Star Wars of it all is just one layer, and even non-SW fans will appreciate its story and pastiches. Somewhat surprised that the show is not ranked up there with Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones or the Sopranos ... Although the series POV is of the ground level combatants the scale is enormous as one might expect from a Star Wars franchise. This serial is truly awesome. Excellent cast, great acting, intriguing storyline and plot. The final episode sets things up nicely for Season 2 ...
