Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens: Season 1 (2020)

SEASON:

Season 1
Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens

Critics Consensus

Nora From Queens showcases Awkwafina's charming brashness and surrounds her with an equally delightful cast -- especially scene stealer Lori Tan Chinn -- but it could stand to walk a less familiar comedic beat.

Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens is a great show, fueled by hilarious writing and outstanding performances from Awkwafina and Lori Tan Chinn. The music is also great. The only negative would be at times it feels the show tries too hard.

This is an original and light hearted look at a twenty-something young woman living at home in Queens with her Father and Grandmother. She is struggling to find work, a relationship, and independence while dealing with trying to find herself. Akwafina has a young, Asian Larry David like quality (with a twist of Lucille Ball) and this show is the perfect vehicle for her unique style. The show deals with some serious issues- growing up Asian- American, unusual family structure, the character's sexuality, and the fast paced happenings of Queens, NYC. The show softens the edges on hard issues that often evoke controversy and debate but deals with them light-heartedly and with good humor and temperament. I love the Grandmother and her plain-spoken mannerism-honest and outspoken and very funny and wise. I love the intra-Asian rivalries and inside jokes. This show really grew on me episode by episode. There are adult themes and language used.

New, original, silly, but funny. Worth 30 mins a week.

Horrible show, this has to be the most annoying cast on tv in recent and current years. Don't waste your time.

I found this show very funny. I miss some jokes at time since sometimes she speaks too quickly.

I live in Queens. I hate this show. Pure liberal stereotypical garbage.
