Once again Petzal proved herself undeniably adept at weaving together a complex knot of murder, family dysfunction, domestic violence, drug-dealing, lesbian love, shattered futures and more. Go to Full Review

Anyone wondering if the show's writer and creator, Sophie Petzal, could wring more out from the family saga need not have worried. Go to Full Review
Liam Fay The Times (UK) 03/02/2020
The new series is a handsome and hook-rich thriller that seems carefully engineered to deliver a decent supply of twists, shocks and cliffhangers. But it bears only a passing resemblance to the original. Go to Full Review
Adam Sweeting The Arts Desk 04/30/2020

Petzal's trick with Blood is to make it superficially resemble a sober, carefully-observed family drama, when in fact under the surface there's a boiling maelstrom of rage, violence, fear and guilt. Go to Full Review
Christopher Stevens Daily Mail (UK) 04/28/2020

The story flicks back and forth in time, sometimes giving the impression that we're trying to complete a double-sided jigsaw in our heads. But every piece fits, and each flip of the picture reveals something new. Go to Full Review

marta l @RT19950310 08/05/2023 Season 1 ended abruptly as far as what was to become of the main character and it was an awesome season, then season 2 starts with little explanation as to what occurred, but ok I could live with that except that the show then goes into back and forth in time which makes it extremely difficult to figure out what is or what has happened thus confusing; in addition the show starts introducing new characters like Fiona's husband and others that are simply clearly new villains, but still all shrouded by mystery and subjecting the main character to threat of serious danger - I get it that it's the new plot yet not very original as the first season was, I just stopped watching it. See more Callison D @Moscow 09/26/2021 After watching Season one in one day, yesterday, Season 2 is an enormous disappointment. Extremely boring, morose, sad, depressing characters. Cat from Season One doesn't appear, at least in the first 2-3 episodes after which I had had enough and quit watching. The character Paul, Fiona's husband, is one dimensionally sad throughout. Fiona is sad. All of them are sad and depressing. See more 05/02/2020 This was so boring I switched over. I felt it was trite and unexciting. Please don't make another series!
