The lead gets mortally wounded too often to believably continue to kick ass, though. This would only make sense for Wolverine. Visually it is a feast, every frame feels like it has been hand-painted with chaos and care and the action sequences are crisp, brutal, and unflinching. The animation does not shy away from being violent or sexy and honestly I love that unapologetic 18 plus energy, it just feels real and untamed. The voice acting sells it too, each character has weight and each line lands without ever feeling forced. The story is gripping with enough tension and betrayal to keep you hooked, but it is the atmosphere that really sticks, the soundtrack, the visuals, the way it does not pull punches.
