Tv Season Info

Series 1 of "Bones" left off with forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) discovering her mother's corpse and investigating her past. FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) located her estranged brother. Reluctantly, Russ Brennan (Loren Dean) confessed that the disappeared Brennan parents lived as criminals with false identities. The second season finds a hopeful Brennan renewing her relationship with her brother and reeling from the unexpected arrival of her long-absent father, Max Keenan (Ryan O'Neal). Her dad returns to protect his children from a life-threatening danger tied to his shady history and connected to an FBI superior. As a conflicted Brennan faces her past, she confronts deadly consequences caused by the release of her latest novel and butts heads with the new head of the Forensics Division at the Jeffersonian Institute, forensic pathologist and former Booth flame Dr. Camille "Cam" Saroyan (Tamara Taylor). Meanwhile, her protégé Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) earns his doctorate and considers a request to go to war; ex-sniper Booth argues with the mother of his son and resumes an affair with Cam; forensic artist Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin) takes up with bugs-slime expert Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne); and Brennan falls for FBI agent Tim "Sully" Sullivan (Eddie McClintock), who offers Brennan the chance to go away with him indefinitely. Brennan, Booth, and the "squints" must put aside personal conflicts to chase down clues left by the corpses of slain beauty pageant contestants, serial-killer victims and murdered priests. Their sleuthing abilities are deftly tested when the Grave Digger, a villain known for kidnapping his victims and burying them alive, captures Dr. Brennan and a colleague and holds them for ransom. Finally, just as a happy ending looms, a wedding goes awry, a father is arrested, a beloved squint departs, and Brennan receives a message from her deceased mother.

Critic Reviews for Bones Season 2

All Critics (5) | Top Critics (2)

Part CSI-esque laboratory drama and part fast paced police program in the vein of Law And Order: SVU. This high-energy mashing-up of seemingly opposite styles sets the pace for all twenty-one of season two's episodes.
