Critic Consensus: A so-so police drama with an interesting premise, Crossing Lines is kept from taking flight by dull characters and hackneyed plotting.

The series, undeservedly getting thumped in the ratings so far, is a polished procedural with a sophisticated atmosphere.
Crossing Lines tells a satisfying story of the hunt for an international serial killer, but it is so clumsy in its efforts to set up an emotional payoff that it probably shouldn't have tried at all.
Crossing Lines isn't breezy enough for a summer diversion. Instead it's ponderous, pretentious and too predictable.
The team is a colorful group, plus Fichtner is a wonderful leading man. The show also has a feeling of more of a cable show than a network show.
Designed for sales in as many markets as possible around the world, it's a financial consideration more than a creative venture, and it's a boring one at that. Don't bother.
