Critic Reviews for Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 10

All Critics (16) | Top Critics (7)

[E]ven with the looseness of the scenes, David still knows how to guide the larger storylines to a climax - or, more often, a collision.

Jan 30, 2020 | Full Review…

In the kickoff episode to the new season of "Curb," Larry stars in a kind of greatest hits tribute to the show, as he offers a medley of offensive opinions in rapid-fire fashion.

Jan 24, 2020 | Rating: 3.5/4 | Full Review…

Neither age nor success have mellowed our irascible antihero and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Jan 29, 2020 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

I have never got the appeal of this show: it feels like a formulaic 1990s comedy in which the only joke is Larry's anger, or whatever complex, acidic emotion it is that drives him to abuse everyone he's talking to.

Feb 3, 2020 | Full Review…

It takes nerve and skill to turn a champion of churlishness, one that inspires empathy, into a figure who's not lovable, but someone you love to hate... The appalling, imbecilic Larry David character is getting precisely what he deserves.

Feb 6, 2020 | Full Review…

The show's great strength is the continued ingenuity and audacity of the writing. Not every joke sizzles, yet the average episode still features an exceptionally high quotient of laugh-out-loud moments.

#metoo has happened to the world since Season Nine, so it stands to reason it should happen to Larry... Watching Real and Fictional Larry duke it out onscreen - where does one stop and the other start? - in this environment gives the season a fresh edge.

Feb 21, 2020 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

Fearlessly taking on topics like MAGA, #MeToo, and Harvey Weinstein would generally be considered ill-advised but the genius of Larry David is in the way he goes there and mines comedy gold from such rotten apples.

Jan 24, 2020 | Full Review…

There's a sense that Larry is eager to cram this installment full of every random frustration he's had since the show's 2017 outing, which gives the proceedings an enlivening rat-a-tat-tat energy.

Jan 24, 2020 | Full Review…

David and his co-writers have had a little over two years to digest everything that's being going on in America under Donald Trump and turn it into comedy gold in this 10th (and reportedly final) season - and, boy, do they let rip.

Jan 29, 2020 | Rating: 5/5 | Full Review…

This season of Curb is going to have a lot of fun with the idea that a relatively innocent guy can get caught up in historical circumstances he can't control.

Jan 30, 2020 | Full Review…

Is this all funny? Yeah, it absolutely is - I cackled out loud throughout the 38-minute episode. But it feels atypically aggressive, strangely paced, and in some cases destructively impatient.

Best season ever, among so many great ones!

I don't understand these high ratings for such a mediocre series. By the end of the third minute, I'm itching like I have hives. If I make it to the fifth minute, my remote finger is itching to pull the trigger on that channel!

Larry is the best! Love the "spite-store".

how else does one eat an apple except blithely??

Larry is always on the verge of a scrap. How people tolerate him is a miracle. Guess I like the show as it reminds me of Me!!
  • Feb 15, 2020
    Episode one was brilliant!

    Hilarious. Larry is a genius.

I think Curb fans can breathe a sigh of relief now. After season nine's stale and uninspired feeling that even left Larry looking bored with himself everyone figured he'd lost the touch and that might be the end of it. I think it's safe to say that Curb Your Enthusiasm has made a huge comeback. Much of the season's first 4 episodes feel right at home with earlier Curb and has given us 4 pretty memorable episodes so far. Episode 4 "You're Not Going to Get Me to Say Anything Bad About...." is an instant classic and is already made it's way to my top ten episodes all time. The fight at the wedding is classic Curb. And as always someone else does something to Larry that inadvertently makes him look like a schmuck. You'd feel sorry for him if you thought he cared what other people think about him, but he doesn't, which always makes everything that much better. It can only get better, which has me really excited!
