Ann R Oct 12 I'm sorry that this series doesn't have a second season, if only to finish the story lines that are unresolved. It was well acted and heart felt. It deserves more credit that it got. The book lost its sweetness and subtlety in the transformation, and barely any of the characters were recognizable from the book. Predictable and therefore boring character/plot point changes were made. Maybe if the development team hadn't had their eye on multiple seasons, they might have been more faithful to the original, and not been cancelled after one season. It's both too different from the book while holding onto too many key pieces — unsuccessful at both. I wish it had either stuck to the story, or even better for tv, taken the basic premise of the book and gone on a wildly different track focusing on other passengers and their families in detail with Edward in the background in a much bigger way.
