Nuts that people kept attending his sermons even after his wife was found dead and it was clear he was tormenting her. Even more wild that he remarried shortly after - his new wife must be a luny. Sad story he victim blamed her about being bipolar and it wasn't even evident she was. Messed up story. The series explores allegations of control, manipulation, humiliation, and abuse while examining the circumstances surrounding Mica’s death. It is an incredibly compelling true-crime story that keeps you glued to the screen. I thought the series was exceptionally well done. The storytelling is focused and structured in a way that keeps the information moving without losing the emotional weight of what happened. It also gives you a look inside a Christian church culture and reminds you that people in spiritual leadership are still human, and warning signs can sometimes be hidden behind that position of trust. I truly feel for Mica, and her death is heartbreaking. This is the kind of story that could make a film. I highly recommend Death of the Pastor’s Wife. It was a clear case of abuse and downright evil. My heart breaks for Mica who sincerely loved God (though she was certainly not perfect). I'm glad they exposed the pastor for what he was. But there were far more guilty parties in this story than just the pastor. The elders of this church knew exactly what he was from the beginning and protected him for years. They protected his pulpit when he cheated on his wife and seduced a very young married woman in Mica. And the female pastor, Pastor Tammy McCollum, who was touted as some kind of hero, may have been the most guilty apart from JP. She restored him to the pulpit, knowing his past and what he had already done to his previous wife. She was trusted because of her "discernment." Really? Her lack of discernment—frankly, her foolishness—helped enable this entire frenzy of abuse, which extended well beyond Mica Miller.
