What to Know

Critics Consensus

While this satire's scattershot aim at thorny topics doesn't hit every target, Hugh Bonneville's expertly hapless performance makes it a squirmy pleasure to watch.

Outstanding performances support the series; Bonneville is terrific as expected. Go to Full Review

Douglas is Cancelled makes the case for character studies, deeply examining characters as they are in the moment, and proves that, sometimes, it’s more compelling to present people at their core and allow viewers to draw their own conclusions. Go to Full Review

This very clever, deliberately disorienting four-part series from creator Steven Moffat seems, at first, to be intended purely as a takedown of political correctness. Go to Full Review

The four-part series is a raw, insidious depiction of workplace harassment driven by deeply-set misogynist ideals with a “boys will be boys” mentality. Go to Full Review

The dialogue is funny for the most part and is expertly delivered by Wilkinson, Gillan, Kingston and the rest of the cast, which might be enough to endure this non-controversy for four 40-minute episode. Go to Full Review

Fred N @fneylan Dec 11 A surprising and interesting series. It starts out light, a commentary on social media. But by episode, it becomes darker and more serious as it delves into the pre-computer old-boy network.that rarely cancelled anyone for more significant offenses. Compelling performances with enough nuance to support multiple theories. See more Gloria C Oct 9 Wow, that was intense! I think every woman could feel Madeline’s horror. All the characters were spot on and perfectly cast with great actors. The ending was perfect, all around a really intelligent and entertaining show. See more Sonia A. Sep 1 The plot is like a who-done-it without the murder. Excellent acting by all and there’s an interesting twist to keep us engaged. See more Diane B @DyanSwan Jul 13 SPOILERS. The Protagonist (Madeline) is as thorougly dislikable as the males in this show. She "protects" the predator, but skewers/cancels the gossiper. Both men should have been cancelled. Also, it would have been satisfying if Madeline were cancelled. That would have been justice. See more Stephen C @bob25009 Jun 4 4 funny and successful episodes!!!!!!!!!!! See more Khvat A May 9 Very strong and powerful ending. Great performances by Karen Gillan and Hugh Bonneville! See more Read all reviews
