Chad de Guzman TIME Magazine 01/03/2024
Though themes in the latest episodes can sometimes tread familiar ground, D.P.’s second season is just as unapologetic, as visceral, and as thought-provoking as its first, if not more so. Go to Full Review

Jung Hae-in and Kim Sung-kyun are bright spots in D.P., a military drama that calls out some truly ugly behaviors that have become commonplace in the Korean army. Go to Full Review

“D.P.” tells the important and uncomfortable stories that no one wants to believe are true. When soldiers are regularly humiliated, degraded and tortured, what right does anyone have to tell the victims that they must return to their abusers? Go to Full Review

D.P. Season 2 excels in all areas, effortlessly elevating above its predecessor. It was well worth the wait. Another K-Drama that proves it is well ahead of its Western counterparts. Go to Full Review

After a phenomenal first season, Netflix’s military drama D.P. returns with a polished and intermittently engaging new set of episodes that ultimately disappoint by simply offering more of the same. The problem is that the show had already made its point. Go to Full Review

While the pace is patient and deliberate, the urgency of the narrative keeps the story moving and it’s coupled with a poignant legal arc that creates nail-biting dramatic suspense. Go to Full Review

Berni P @BerniPx Sep 7 Season 2 is a seamless continuation of Season 1, with great acting, storytelling and social commentary. The final two episodes struggle a bit, since they focus more on action-packed fight scenes and time running out, instead of the tragic personal dramas that were explored before. In the end, the show only seems to suggest tweaking the system, instead of fully challenging it. Nevertheless, the series has to be praised for the courageous efforts it made. Also, Ho-Yeol, who was the most unique character in Season 1, becomes less interesting over time. His farewell to Jun-Ho was an underwhelming closure to their story. Not easy to watch in places a thought provoking storyline that has a clear cut ending. Disappointing both seasons total 12 episodes. It would of been nice to explore the darker side of Jung Hae-in's character Jun Ho and his back story as the acting skills from Hae-In are simply superb.
