1d agoTo keep it short: It's clearly not a series attempting to be 100% accurate to the novel, and that's fine, I can enjoy recreations based on a concept. I fucking loved the first ep and recently rewatched it. I very much enjoyed most of what they were doing with it there. Though I've felt more uncertain about the last episode. Regardless, it's an interesting take on it.

Apr 13, 2022A bit like the Gary Oldman movie, this starts out reasonably faithful to the novel and then deviates from it in progressively stupider ways. Claes Bang's pithy, world-weary Dracula could have been the defining interpretation of the character if only the dialogue and story were better.

Mar 24, 2022I found it very watchable,

Mar 21, 2022This movie was well made as far as movies go, but it's definitely a comedy. Once humor is injected into the dialogue and plot, it's no longer a "horror" movie. Horror and humor are incompatible. I'm not a fan of comedy and I find nothing more insufferable than a daft Dracula.

Mar 08, 2022Claes Bang is the devil in disguise, and has the most alluring and menacing charisma. Dolly Wells takes grasp of the demon hunters character with both hands and pins you to your armchair in this captivating adaptation of this legendary tale.
-
Jan 09, 2022Strong start, but ultimately an underwhelming final episode.
-
Jan 08, 2022A decent telling of the story. I enjoyed it.
-
Dec 24, 2021Keeping the story unnecessarily long can bore the viewer. The choice of lead is very good. You can watch it.
-
Nov 12, 2021Product with too many parallels to Sherlock to be able to ignore. And it goes to hell twice as fast. The aesthetics of the Hammer are beautifully updated and there are some other interesting verbal exchanges that can make you forgive a somewhat loose script... And then you get to episode three and... And its just silly. Not a bit silly. Very silly XD.
-
Nov 11, 2021Very fun take on a classic tale.
