Gina M @RT70827852 2d The main character is an insufferable narcissist and that is the point! We watch her on her very bumpy journey through therapy and finally some growth. It’s hilarious to see her be her own worst enemy and the actress does a wonderful job of being infuriating and, at times, tug at our hearts. We learn why she became this way and the show does a good job of keeping her chaotic childhood in the through line as she digs into it in therapy and her confront her family. But the main character is so odious and smells so much like Limburger that I can't really enjoy it. Her cluelessness is comedic, yes, but ultimately her soullessness and mercenary qualities make her completely unsympathetic. I watch it like watching a car accident. The main character seems to be completely soulless. What could go wrong? I haven't reached the conclusion, and I guess she will at some point evolve, but somehow it seems like she will only grow a soul by realizing that her choices were wrong selfishly. Not that they were wrong because she herself is so lacking in decency and so narrow. I also don't understand why anyone in their right mind would choose Vicky over Mei . . . I sure wouldn't.
