F Is for Family: Season 2 (2017)

Season 2
F Is for Family

Critics Consensus

F is For Family is a little grouchier and wiser in its second season, evoking an era of American decay with warm pastel hues and articulating blue collar angst through Bill Burr's blustery delivery.

F is for Family illustrates why it's important to see series for what they are, rather than through the genre lens thrust upon them.

This series might spend most of its time repeating the same screaming fits over and over...but there's a formidable spine underneath.

Make no mistake, F is for Family is the drunker, depressed older brother of The Simpsons.

Looking to relive the days where you could smoke anywhere and leave your children to play unattended for hours at a time? Netflix's animated series F is for Family might be the perfect binge for you.

F Is for Family improves in its second season, without changing much at all. It's a bit funnier, a bit smarter and perhaps even a little bit dirtier, but many will find season 2 to be a straight continuation from season 1.

It's a study in a specific sort of white, lower-middle-class disappointment. Still the best current credits sequence on TV.

"F Is for Family," an animated sitcom starring Bill Burr and Laura Dern and set in the early 1970s, is one of the best new shows out there, period.

...while the sophomore year of F is for Family is a considerable improvement over the first... it isn't enough to distract from the low brow gags and uninspired direction.

I like so many things about F Is For Family, and the way it's thought through the inner lives of even the most minor and/or broad character.

Bill burr is hilarious. He tells it like it is and how a lot of us fathers want to say it. Worth watching

One of the best animated shows out there. Tops family guy and amarican dad
  • Nov 26, 2018
Same as first season in terms of quality.

Esta segunda temporada foi maior, melhor e mais engraçada ainda. Entreteu-me bastante. É triste ver que a Netflix não aposta mais neste tipo de séries, inspiradas em modelos antigos (mesmo estes não sendo os mais corretos e aceites pela sociedade atual).

what a piece of poo... am I supposed to find this funny

The show reminds me a lot of how things were like years ago. The jokes are funny and often crude, but in quite a few episodes the drama goes on for a bit too long and the '''wisdom of the day" speech kinda sucks when all you look for is a fun time. Your kid probably won't enjoy it. Season 2 is an improvement over the first in both cheekiness of the jokes and the attention to small life details... also more dirty scenes

F is for Family improves upon its already-pretty-good-for-what-it-was first season by not only boasting all the vulgarity and gleefully profane humour people who've watched the first season have come to expect but also boasting some realistically heavy drama. Especially in the last two episodes. One thing I truly praise though is that there are now 10 episodes. Yes, it's a stupid thing to praise but one thing I didn't like about the first season was how short it was at only 6 episodes. And now, more episodes means a longer story meaning it doesn't to be ridiculously fast-paced. I'm glad this season of the series ended happily yet still manages to insert the possibility of a third season. Nowadays, most seasons of Netflix shows just HAVE to end on a cliffhanger of sorts. Even Stranger Things and the third season of BoJack Horseman seemed to sort-of foreshadow future events. It doesn't really detract the quality of a show, though. So, in a way, F is for Family manages to come into its own in its sophomore season. Keep this up and you'll be on your way to serving as a worthy opponent to BoJack Horseman.

better than season one which I also enjoyed.

love this show... grew up in the 70s and can relate to all of this... also was a middle child, so I know some things there as well...

A stark inprovement on the first season. F is for family takes its crude, timely and hilarious antics to another level. Not much is all that different but its been tweaked to deliver better as Burr's semi-biopic cartoon deserves more attention with season 2
