Five Days at Memorial is unflinching to the point of punishing, thoroughly recounting an absolute calamity while giving due to those who tried their best to stanch the tragic fallout.

It should be compulsory viewing for all government officials, health-care providers and corporate managements who are responsible for preparing their citizens, their patients and their employees for appropriate responses when disaster strikes. Go to Full Review

If you have the stomach to dig into a nightmarish tale of systemic failure and murky medical ethics, you’ll be rewarded with truly masterly performances. You’ll also be filled with sorrow and rage. Go to Full Review

A stark drama of waiting. Waiting for floodwaters to recede; for power and hope to be restored; for privatized health care administrators to do the right thing. Go to Full Review

It adds little to diligent reporting: not only does it fail to fully convey how we got here, it fails to appear truly interested in the question. Go to Full Review

You can feel the depth of her reporting and the richness of her characterizations in this series, an all-too-human, and unfortunately all-too-believable look at a disaster with a terrible toll, and a story about Katrina you probably didn't expect. Go to Full Review

Thomas K Oct 12 I was sent out at 10pm to knock on doors in the lower 9th ward to let them know we were flooding the neighborhood and reenacting Katrina. It was dangerous, and traumatic for everyone involved. I did my bosses job on countless occasions, and worked so hard on this series. Our wrap gift? A donation to a charity amount of which was disclosed, no idea which charity. It would’ve been nice to get a T shirt or any memorabilia for the crews hard work, all I got was PTSD. See more Ariana R. @Ariromero1 Sep 12 this show made me cry, made me think about morality and survival of the fittest, it definitely opened my eyes because i didn’t even know about this and after watching this show i felt more educated and researched more into it. i’ve shown other people this show and they really liked it. See more Eric N @EricNix 05/11/2024 As with most hour-long dramatic tv series, I prefer to watch one episode per day, which gives me a chance to digest and process what I've seen before moving onto the next episode. This definitely worked in my favour for "Five Days At Memorial." Unless you're a soulless automaton, the first five episodes would be virtually impossible to binge watch. There's not only a lot going on all at once, there's also an unflinching examination of what went wrong at Memorial during the Katrina disaster. At times, it's almost too heart-wrenching to watch. Tears will definitely flow and your mind will go back and forth trying to understand what all these people went through. More than that, however, it makes you look in the mirror and consider what YOU would have done in similar circumstances. This series is a difficult, challenging watch - but it's also must-see television of the highest order. I'd also recommend watching the behind-the-scenes features at the end of each episode (following the credits). They're only a couple of minutes long, but really do add a lot to the story. This is truly outstanding television. Have some tissues ready, be prepared for the realistic on-screen devastation, and catch up on one of Apple TV+'s best series. See more Michael A @mcafilms 01/16/2024 Whether the guilt of Dr. Pou or the horrendous impact of Hurricane Katrina, some things can never be forgotten. See more Angelo D @Mike8cali88 10/10/2023 Heart felt movie, I cannot imagine how these poor people women, men, children, but my condolences, to all the families in New Orleans, & doctors & nurses every single one of you are heroes!! See more Michael W @mawilps 02/03/2023 This miniseries was really good. Vera Farmiga, Cherry Jones, Molly E. Hager, Robert Pine, Michael Gaston, Cornelius Smith Jr., Julie Ann Emery, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this miniseries. This true story about Dr. Anna Pou murdering patients during Hurricane Katrina at Memorial Hospital was tense, dramatic, and tragic. What these nurses did was downright evil, immoral, and sick. They deserve to be punished for their sins and face criminal charges. They were just afraid to go to prison and would do anything like lie to the public about it, which they did. If you're an Apple TV+ member, you should watch this miniseries sometime. It's worth watching and it'll show you why they deserve to face the consequences for their actions. See more Read all reviews
