What to Know

Critics Consensus

Fool Me Once's reliance on twists might be too much a turnoff for some to check it out twice, but game performances by Michelle Keegan and Joanna Lumley ensure that there'll be no shame for those who stick around.

Just when you think you have it all figured out, Coben stuns you again and again, no matter how preposterous his twists are or how unbalanced the narrative. Go to Full Review

[Keegan] is imperious, humourless, brassy — and, no lie, gripping to watch. Go to Full Review

... If Lumley doesn’t quite act Keegan off-screen, she is nonetheless fantastically formidable. Throw in a plot that moves like a slinky on steroids and you have a post-Christmas thriller to cherish. Go to Full Review

It is one of those extremely captivating miniseries with a convoluted plot that becomes increasingly complex and whose resolution is shocking and surprising. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Ragtime H @ragtime.holly Aug 7, 2026 Genuinely surprised people enjoyed this, I honestly thought the script was maybe AI?? 1. main character is a woman so clearly written by a man - too many examples to even write out lmao it's actually kind of impressive 2. zero of the characters acted realistically in any way - especially when it came to confronting people for bad actions all alone with nobody knowing where they are while holding the sole piece of evidence lmfao 3. for some reason the main girl and her husband are acted by people who too recently got botox so that their facial muscles don't seem to be emoting in any recognizable fashion 4. I'm sorry but the detective's pregnant wife (also super written by a dude) is SO FAR out of his league and he doesn't even have a good personality to make it make sense 5. the main character's "backstory" fell flat, the "twist" fell flat, the ending fell flat, characters were flattttt... it's incredibly unsatisfying from start to finish. See more Frank B @RT99468417 Jul 28, 2026 The acting was beyond abysmal. The plot is also so absurd, that coupled with the ending means i wasted hours of my life on this, time I’ll never get back. See more Rowel M @RT66710446 Jul 25, 2026 Well, TBH i don't like that they killed Maya but I like the plot twist. I just felt like there's a lot of unnecessary scenes. Overall, worth watching. See more Rafi M @RT10855696 Jul 17, 2026 Just finished watching it.. suspenseful with a shocking twist at the end. See more s Y @yerubandi Jun 18, 2026 one of the worst plots. all they did in the plot was to fool the people, a superbly stupid ending. See more Denise T @Dee1925 Apr 29, 2026 Genuine crap. Bad script, bad acting, bad "plot" (and believe me the plot is definitely parenthetical). Harlan Coben is the ultimate harbinger of very very bad television. And he's not just the writer, he's the producer. What a shite this show was. See more Read all reviews
