See more Ryan A Mar 2 The way this show moves forward is fantastic and the aging of the characters is certainly far better than recasting the actors (of course a few have been recast for obvious reasons), the bold move towards Mars and all that comes with it. Many seem to say the show is losing steam but others can see this show is taking some serious risks in terms of creating its own history and all that comes with that. The acting is still extremely solid and whilst a lot is earth side focused you can see that it is needed because these characters are the ones being left behind. People again pointing out “unrealistic” things within the show are obviously unfamiliar with the sci-fi genre as anything is possible. The creators haven’t exactly put flying cars into the show and said “well this happened”. The placement of the carefully thought out and often explained jumps in technology work perfectly fine with the story going on. Why is cranky Ed Baldwin (this character must been his 70's now?) still a NASA leader on Mars? In anything resembling real life an astronaut that old would have been retired long, long before. The writing has dipped this season with a lot of characters behaving in ways - and making decisions - that leave me scratching my head wondering if this season's writers even watched all the previous episodes.
