If anything, I think television needs more of the sort of aesthetic daring displayed on Freddy's Nightmares. Go to Full Review

Freddy's TV show isn't entertainment, it's just trash -- poorly written trash and poorly executed trash. Go to Full Review

Freddy lost his edge a long time ago and has been blunted, almost beyond recognition, from the sharp young go-getter we used to know and love into a bad joke told too often. Go to Full Review

Freddy Krueger the star of a prime-time television show? Yup. There are no bounds to the tastelessness of TV. Go to Full Review
Jeff Borden Charlotte Observer 06/01/2022
The special effects of Freddy's Nightmares are good, even occasionally gory, though not on a par with the movies. But the dialogue is often ridiculous and the wooden acting by all but Englund undercuts the suspense that director Tobe Hooper creates. Go to Full Review

What is a reviewer to say but that this theme does seem to go on forever, and TV viewers' nightmares are just beginning? Go to Full Review

Jason T. @SlasherFan82 Oct 12 I enjoy the series so much. Episode one is the very best of the series as it fully revolves around Freddy. The rest of the episodes are just tales/stories that Freddy introduces basically. See more Josh A @RT94970263 Apr 8 At least this show is linked to its origin series, albeit loosely, since Freddy appears as basically the storyteller. The Crypt Keeper, if you will. And I like the concept. It kinda bridges the gap between A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 and Freddy's Dead, showing random happenings in Springwood caused by Freddy. It feels more kid-focused than the movies, but it's still decent. It's not amazing but it isn't awful. Just kinda average. Oh, and one more thing that I really wanna talk about. It's insane. Absolutely crazy. You have episodes like assassins on a plane, a babysitter being hunted by kids in war outfits I think, and more madness that makes you feel like you took seventy pounds of LSD before watching and somehow didn't die. It's wild. Just absolute craziness for 40 minutes each episode. Overall, it's about the same level of quality as the Friday the 13th TV show: not amazing but not awful. See more LFAF T @LFAFSTYLE 03/03/2023 To start, Freddy’s Nightmares is an anthological series where each episode follows two different yet connected storylines. This season is fun but it’s also messy. The episodes I liked I had a blast with and the episodes I didn’t like I was left disappointed and confused. This season would’ve been a bit more strong if each episode focused only on one storyline because having two storylines, most episodes felt really messy. However, the messiness doesn’t hurt this season all too badly but the continuity errors do in a way. So while I found this season to be a fun time overall, it just felt very formulaic & uninspired and doesn’t really feel like it fits into the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Huge shoutout to Robert Englund for once again portraying Freddy Krueger as he is easily the best part of the tv series. See more Read all reviews
