Soleil Le Claire, a girl who lives for horror, accidentally breaks a spell on the Tree of Life and unleashes an ancient evil. The spirit of Marie Laveau, the voodoo queen of New Orleans, puts her and four other kids in charge of saving the city from Belial, an ancient demon who feeds on fear. Luckily, they're not alone, as each kid gets a special gift from the voodoo spirits called Loa. Eventually they learn their town's biggest secret: Vampires, rougarous, ghosts, monsters and demons are real and have secretly lived among humans for decades. The Krewe will have to hone their powers, figure out what Belial's up to and keep the peace between creatures as they go head-to-head with local legends from the underworld.

When other streaming service is sacking their animation productions for tax write offs, it's nice to have Hulu invest in incredible animated fetes like Fright Krewe. The relationships are interesting and realistic. Some conflicts within the group become resolved by the end of the series. I like the example of conflict resolution within a diverse group of friends and peers. This has an old school Scooby energy with more dynamic and three dimensional characters to boot. Great for kids of all ages. Hope to see more like this- it's time to show people of all class backgrounds and cultures able to work together towards common goals, especially when it's rooting out corruption. The animation is excellent. Hard to find on streaming platforms these days. I feel like adopting practices designed for more efficient production can decrease the quality of a product. This is especially true of animation. It's blocky. There's less art in it. The lines are stiff and ugly. This was delightful to watch in every way. The antagonist was a bit one-dimensional in his aims, but the friendships were genuine and sweet, and I enjoyed the incorporation of New Orleans lore and landmarks.
