Compared to many works of fiction that superficially ape the aesthetics of counterculture, this one embraces graffiti, street art, and the culture around it through its anti-establishment themes. Go to Full Review

[Gachiakuta] thrums with a punk-rock, heavy-metal restlessness, and its visuals amplify its disorder with margins spilling into the center, and feedback snarling in every frame. Go to Full Review

We can always find value in trash. Gachiakuta spins that truth into a striking anime; beautifully animated, heartfelt, and brimming with timely themes of inequality and resilience Go to Full Review

As far as shonen action anime go, 'Gachiakuta' has the potential to be a real hit, although perhaps they were trying to sell it too hard and it doesn't live up to its potential. It's not bad at all...But it just seemed...average.[Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Dennis P @RT22994393 Jun 8 breath of fresh air. addicting and amazing! cant believe the manga never got more attention See more Radi0Activity T @Radi0Acitivty May 28 Quite possibly my new favourite anime of all time. To be fair, I haven't seen many, however this one just scratches that itch in the back of my brain like no other. The animation is incredible (as per usual for Bones), the art-style is amazing, the world-building, oh the world-building... It's perfect. A world split into the Ground and Sphere, being a critique on power and wasteful disposal as well as discrimination in just the world building alone. The music is also amazing in this. I won't say much, but the story is incredible, and the writing swaps between serious and genuinely funny perfectly. Watch it, it's awesome. Oh, and Rudo is a peak protagonist. See more Ry N @RyGuy Mar 25 Rudo is accused of murder in an Astro Boy like civilization, but the floating city of Sphere is divided and the Pit is swarming with Trash Beasts and Raiders. When Rudo is sentenced to the Pit, he uses his 3R of the Watchman Series and joins the Cleaners made up of Givers wielding Vital Instruments. The series has a Fire Force feel, but Jabber is an annoying antagonist. See more Nathan J. @NathanDirector Jan 18 Highlights: - Unique Worldbuilding: The contrast between the wealthy Sphere and the impoverished Pit creates a compelling dystopian setting. - Compelling Characters: Rudo's passion and Enjin's mentorship drive the story, with a strong focus on community and protection. - Technical Excellence: Fluid animation, eclectic music, and a distinct art style make Gachiakuta stand out. Criticisms: - Dark Themes: The anime explores harsh survival and violence, with a spiritual concept rooted in Shinto animism. - Intensely Chaotic: Fast-paced action and detailed debris can be overwhelming at times. Overall, Gachiakuta is a rough, tough, and visually spectacular ride that earns its high rating. See more Iza A @RT06543011 Sep 17 Gachiakuta has always been a series I've loved :3. I started reading the manga when chapter 4 released and I've been waiting years for the anime to release. When it released it was the most perfect adaption I could of ever asked for it was actually better than what I asked for and I love this series so much they absolutely bring justice to this series. The only difference I noticed is that they removed rudo flipping off the dead trash beasts at the beginning of the lady of Penta arc but either than that zero complains I love this show See more Mika G @RT15359207 Sep 9 Gachiakuta has Gachia-me-ta! ;3 But on a serious note, it's one of my favorite animes so far and my friends and i love getting together every Sunday to watch the new episodes. We're on episode 9 now and I'm so excited to watch the story unfold! My only con? The episodes are so short!!! But such is the way with most shows these days. See more Read all reviews
