jennifer C @Itsjennie06 5d Gen V is a fresh start for "the boys" universe, it has total potential to make a whole 5 season series again. There is much to explore with this young rebellious group that can stand on itself without the main story. Its sad to see it canceled. See more Dave B @Dave-B Jun 7 Hit and miss more than the first season, with the second half of the season being much stronger than the first half. The Cipher twist was interesting but poorly executed. Cipher had all the powers and consciousness of Godolkin so why did Godolkin come across so much more power crazed and evil than Cipher? Hamish Linklater (Cipher) was much more compelling on screen than Ethan Slater (Godolkin). The entire team hiding-in-a$$ stuff was a bit too disgusting in Ep. 8 and I really wish the writers had some tighter boundaries. But they setup Marie to beat Homelander, and yet the entire group became a minor supporting cast in S5 of the Boys, and then this show was cancelled. Unfortunate. Is this some sort of payback for perceived excessive female nudity in Hollywood?? Also, everyone is LGBTQABCDEFG. Not everyone falls into that category in real life, and yes, I get this is a comic book adaptation. The excessive political commentary makes this show hard to stomach. At least make viewers have to THINK their way through the political messaging, Geez! See more Jack L @RT22102532 May 11 Gen V Season 2 was definitely a step down from the show’s excellent first season, with a cast of characters that simply did not feel as compelling this time around and a Season 1 cliffhanger that ultimately felt wasted. That said, the series still delivers plenty of sharp humor and does a strong job of expanding the world of The Boys ahead of the franchise’s final season. The show also handled the passing of Chance Perdomo with a great deal of care and respect, giving both the characters and the audience space to grieve his loss in a meaningful way. While I will remember Gen V fondly overall, I am definitely ready for this universe to wrap up after the final season of The Boys.
