El Cruzado _ @RT28180892 06/05/2024 The world building is one of the best one i have seen See more 10/04/2020 What a breath of fresh air. Before seeing its name popping up on Twitter, I didn't know much about Glitch Techs. All I knew was that it was a show coming out on Netflix and its second season had just been released a while back. Looking for that next creative show to scratch the itch I needed it to, Glitch Techs was the treatment I needed to clear my skin. Glitch Techs is the story of two teenagers, Hector "Five" Nieves and Miko Kubota, as they work through their new jobs as honorary Hinobi Glitch Techs. What are Glitch Techs? Well, have you ever wondered what really happens when a game starts to glitch? Instead of the game just glitching out and turning off, when a game glitches, it brings out a digital artificial intelligence (or a "glitch") usually in the form of a character or creature from that game and into the real world. In order to stop these glitches, the Hinobi Tech Corporation employs Glitch Techs to stop and capture the glitches. It's a Ghostbusters meets Men in Black kinda vibe with all the gaming love and care to go around. As someone who has never been much of a gamer, this show made me want to purchase a gaming console and play every game referenced in the show (which is a LOT). Even though some of the references flew over my head, the dialogue between the characters was very comedic and enjoyable to listen to. Speaking of characters, I love them all! Five is easily my favorite character. I fell in love with him and his sweet interactions with his Papi and Abuela. I also appreciated hearing him speak Spanish from time to time too - a very nice touch. Then there's Miko, a spunky, fast-acting girl with lots of energy to go around! I love her hair, her family dynamics, the ways she employs her gamer logic, and her facial expressions. Oh my gosh, her facial expressions are on a different level, and I love it. Another thing I loved about the show was its diversity. As probably guessed from what I've stated already, the two main characters are POC - Five is Latin American and Miko is Asian American. Not only that but we have characters of different cultures, backgrounds, and body types as well. One of my other favorite characters is Zahra who is Arab American, who we meet in episode 1 (briefly), then as a leading role in episode 6. Her chill personality was awesome and I loved how she's very cool at doing her job, but when you get to know her, she's just as much of a nerd as the next Glitch Tech. If I were to have one criticism (albeit small), it were to be there doesn't seem to be an overarching story right now. In the sense of, we get a glimpse that there's more going on behind the scenes at the end of episode 2, but by the time the first season is over, nothing is brought up again. The rest of the season is episodical which is by no means, bad. If anything, it doesn't detract my enjoyment from the show - it's just something I noticed like a piece of string hanging off a sweater. Overall, I highly recommend watching this show and giving it the support it needs on Netflix. I really want to see more of these characters and learn more about the games and glitches found within their world. With the snippets provided already about what could be, I'm excited to see more and I will do everything in my power to support this show with all my heart. Please renew Glitch Techs. But, in all honestly, Glitch Techs is possibly one of the most criminally underrated shows this years so far. Great animation, clever writing, and good characters help make this TV show stand out from others like it. See more 05/19/2020 This show is amazing the Video Game references are great and the jokes are hilarious it's like a Video Game version of Men in Black and it's fucking great i will admit that the final episode is a little anti climactic but what ever Meko is the best character in this show go watch it it's a five out of five See more 05/09/2020 I enjoyed the first 10 episodes a lot. The series is very well done, with great animation and colors, very good voice acting and music, and lots of video game references. See more 05/09/2020 An excellent show, with great comedy, loveable characters, and absolutely fluid and colourful art and animation. Thos os a show that doesnt just have superficial resemblance to pong or pac-man but actually incorporates video game elements both new and old into the games setting itself, like the protagonists slowly getting more powers and abilities as the story progresses. A TV show made by people who really love video games of every stripe, this underrated show deserves at least 120 stars for 100% completion and that flight cap See more Read all reviews
