Billy and his team end up in a life-or-death trial against the ultimate foe, which could end up helping Billy find redemption and exact revenge on the firm. A terrific show, and you don't need to know the previous seasons' twisty plots to get into the surrealistic yet Grisham-esque flow. Go to Full Review

Thanks to Thornton's consistent performance and the addition of heavy hitters like J.K. Simmons and Bruce Dern, it's more than worth your while. Go to Full Review

Paul H Jan 2 The lead was so perfectly cast... (Billy Bob Thornton as scary lawyer fallen on tough times). Very well written! Clever. Intelligent. See more David L Dec 25 I liked Season 1, but season to was gross, violent and disturbing! Certainly not entertaining but that seems to be what America wants… I’m not even going to waste my time with seasons 3 & 4! I can’t believe that David E. Kelly was involved with this series. See more Barb C Aug 19 Did not like this season! Could not get past the first episode. Not sure why we were left hanging about the pregnancy and how he was rescued after being shot at the end of Season 3. Why do producers think it is so important to keep spinning the camera around and to have a walking scene take forever! Really enjoyed the other seasons, noticed on season 3 things started shifting. Figured new writers, directors or producers. Love all the actors! See more Richard B 01/31/2025 Thud Goliath falls with a thud. After the awful sub David Lynch weirdness and overwrought Series 3, BBT is now in San Francisco, recovering from his near death. Did you know it never stops raining in SF? He is invited there by Nina Arianda (wonderful throughout) to lead a case against a pharma co lead by JK Simmons (always good). Laden with more Twin Peaks bollocks haunting BBT, this series is so uneven it resembles a rutted mountain trail. Until the last 2 episodes, BBT looks zombified, sleep walking through his final series. Lifted by Arinada, JK (with his great voice and muscles) and Bruce Dern (always watchable), it straightens out and produces a semi decent ending. BBT looks exhausted by the final season, happy for it to be killed off. I've got to agree with him. After this season, I agree with him. Only Arianda seems fully engaged and emerges from the wreckage of the final 2 seasons as a star. See more James D. B 07/03/2024 The show was excellent in the first season, then took a bizarre downturn. Season 4 was very good. However, what attracted to me to the show was the quality of the legal discussions, discussions in chambers, motions filed, etc. While the show does touch on this a bit in the final episode, the quality of the writing and acting were almost laughable. What qualified for testimony was absurd, to say the least. The judge, although a good actress, was provided with 1950s quality lines. The episode had a great opportunity to delve into the various legal maneuvers without coming across as any other base legal drama that's littered television. I felt bad for Billy Bob Thorton as a witness. He may be a producer, so not too bad. Anyway, enjoyable show but would be nice to get the legal gestures and minutiae back into the show. 10-minutes on pre-trial motions can be interesting and informative for viewers if handled appropriately. Give them more credit. See more mudhutstudios 08/27/2023 From beginning to end, this is binge worthy. I couldn't stop watching this series. See more Read all reviews
