Movie superstar Julia Roberts crushes here, benching her legendary smile - mostly - to play a frazzled, damaged administrator discovering the dark side of a corporate-run program for veterans.

It brilliantly captures the essence of the military compound and Heidi's place in it. And look out for a remarkable long tracking shot that begins on the exterior and somehow brings us in via a large fish tank mounted in a wall...

The result is a television series that's frequently breathtaking.

Nov 5, 2018 | Full Review…

This is a well-executed mystery that avoids a lot of the pitfalls of both mystery shows and science-fiction-tinged shows: it's not overdetermined, it's not overcomplicated, and it's not suddenly upending itself.

Whigham's portrayal of Carrasco is the most compelling. He provides a strong rooting interest as a dogged investigator who's seen as just another nameless underling by his condescending boss.

It's a pleasure to see Roberts stretch her legs on TV, particularly in her scenes opposite James, where her heart is most evident. The two clearly have a strong chemistry... and they are surrounded by a fine supporting cast.

This is as enthralling a mystery series as any of the more high-profile efforts that have been buzzed about over the last few years.

There is an excellent aesthetic here and wonderful performances, but one can't help but feel like the series becomes predictable. [Full Review in Spanish]

Homecoming is a visually lush exploration of trauma, memory, and the human heart vs. the mind.

Ominous as a Hitchcock film; beautifully photographed as a De Palma film. Julia Roberts best performance possibly ever. Everything about this series is first rate

A slow burner yes but so satisfying, both emotionally and in terms of plot, by the time the characters come home.

It's an interesting and unsettling re-structuring of the detective drama, and it adds to the visual and aural onslaught from Esmail and co, who are pulling the strings to engage the viewer even when the story lulls.

Excellent Season 1 - cannot wait to watch and find out more next!

Homecoming never hooked me from the start - it never gave me initial reason to care about the mystery, and at the end I was left thinking "so what?". Huge bummer for a mystery show. Interestingly shot and edited, but the music was overbearing to the point of being cheesy. Was excited to watch the show but ended up being quite disappointed. Many other shows have done this genre better.

If there's one thing a thriller requires in order to be a thriller it's a climax, in the show is missing that 1 thing. The first 8 episodes were really good. I could not wait to see what happened. Unfortunately, nothing happened! No intense encounters, no real consequences for the wrong doers, no thrilling moments. Nothing but peaceful (dare I say) resolution? This is not real life! It's a show! We watch to be entertained! It felt like the writers of the show quit after 8 episodes, and somebody different wrote the last two episodes just to give us an ending. It was terrible. This show was heading for 4.5 stars and was instead, lucky to finish with 3.

Exceptional pilot season that tackles both futuristic/real life scenarios and difficult issues while keeping you on your toes for the entire season. Sam Esmail knocked it out of the park (as always).

Binged watched the entire Season 1 forcing myself to stay awake to see where the story was going and how it ended; developing my own theories as it got toward the end. While you may ask why such a low rating for something that made me keep watching, the ending was so anti climatic and dull it did not warrant the hours watching the episodes that came before it. Left me feeling that it was a waste of five plus hours. If anything it left me confused.

I really enjoy this series, at the beginnig for me whats super boring and i have to admit that i wasn't understanding anything. But if you can pass throug the first three episodes you will be love the story. Also the production it's amazing, love to see the square scenes.

Imagine concocting an elaborate pharma scheme with the US Gov that could be completely undone by a soldier wanting a second helping of dinner. The visual style and tone one the show kept me watching. Certain moments were great. But the plot and story wrap up made no sense - the critics rating for this show is nothing short of absurd.

Thrilling, suspenseful, and multi-layered. A home run from the first episode through to the finale.

The intelligent use of camera, sounddesign and narrative speed ensure tention throughout all episodes. The characters are exeptionally realistic and the dialogs are well written. The amount of memorable camera-drives and scenes could make this series a landmark in the history of cinema pop-culture and the comparably short episodes set a clear contrast to the trend of making serieses with longer and longer becoming episodes and creates a much more vivid pace.
