Hoo boy that whole interlude just went on and on. It did give us Alys Rivers, though, and Ser Simon Strong... It also gave Daemon the kind of emotional breakdown that Matt Smith had a lot of fun splashing around in.

“Smallfolk” is one of those House of the Dragon episodes in which nothing major seems to happen. Rather, that may be how it seems to anyone who hasn’t read “Fire & Blood” or other George R.R. Martin works, we should say.

All in all, it’s another excellent episode of House Of The Dragon. There are a lot of big dialogue-heavy scenes, which the series is fast becoming known for, and just enough action to keep anyone craving an adrenaline hit happy.

Aemond Targaryen does not suffer fools. That is one of the core lessons at the heart of House of the Dragon’s Season 2 Episode 6, “Smallfolk”, which sees the Prince Regent and heir to the Iron Throne flexing his newfound power in intriguing ways.
