Adam L @adambeyoncelowe Oct 12 Tonally, it's all over the place. Narratively, it's a mess. While the first season was about real people with daft forays into imagination-land serving as a neat way to illustrate their peculiarities, series 2 is usually just pure fantasy and jumps all over the place. I reckon he didn't really know what to do with a second season, so just threw everything in. In some parts, it's like it's trying to be League of Gentlemen; in others, Mighty Boosh. Then it's back to being a charming sitcom about an odd couple. Russel Tovey is still good, as is the mum, the brother, the brother's love interest, and just about everyone but Juice. But really? This should've been a two-part special to resolve Jamma's commitment issues and give us a happy ending. The rest just seems unnecessary. See more Read all reviews
