News & Interviews for Kingdom: Season 2
Kingdom doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does add new twists to the zombie mythology by introducing the quasi-vampiric nature of its flesh-eaters.
f you love zombies and are on the hunt for something fresh, you cannot go wrong with Kingdom.
I couldn't pull myself away. It's a perfect watch this month for anyone looking for a thriller that really feels unique.
Quite frankly, the show is a very real contender for the title of 'greatest zombie television series of all time'.
'Kingdom' avoids unnecessary fillers in the story, and leaves a consistency in its spine that makes it worthy. [Full Review in Spanish]
Kingdom, with its second season, continues the greatness of the first season and delivers a satisfying, bloody good time.
Kingdom Season 2 is perfection. It's beautiful, it's bloody, and showcases how Korea continually increases the bar for zombie productions.
Audience Reviews for Kingdom: Season 2
Apr 02, 2021My only complaint is that there are only 6 episodes each season. There should be at least 10.
Mar 31, 2021Two thumbs up. Better than the 1st season. Very well written, solid & interesting plot and money well spent (big budget)
Mar 07, 2021A well-told and acted series. By the end of Season 2, if they have no plans to do a third season, I can easily see this going into comic form and dialing up an even darker morbid tale of mis-adventurers for the prince, the nurse, and the tiger-hunter. SPOILERS AHEAD: Three years previous, to combat a Japanese invasion that will demolish the Korean forces, Lord Ahn Hyeon is convinced by Lord Cho Hak-Ju of the Haweon Cho Clan to sacrifice their sick and dying peasants so they can be resurrected as hard-to-kill flesh-eating zombies. Dr. Lee Seung-Hui chronicles the disease for King ? so that he can tell the truth, and also trains Seo-bi the nurse in how to use the Resurrection plant to bring the dead back to life. Unfortunately, Cho Hak-Ju and the Queen (Cho's daughter) have other plans. In the poor streets of a communal village, cannibalising an infected man causes a change in the disease, making the newer zombies, three years later, evolve to some degree, making them less routine as before. Estranged Prince Lee Chang comes back, not to claim the throne, but to help the nation rise from it's curse. Season 1 set the stage for the tension between the clan and the prince while trying to grasp the zombie plague. Season 2 takes on more subterfuge, betrayal, twists and subtle social commentaries (male heirs and abortion, genocide of the poor, nationalism, etc.). Season 3 looks to ramp up the octane with an intentionally evil slavemaster-looking female pirate?
Feb 08, 2021ANYONE READING THIS: Check out Stranger and Hyena on Netflix as well. Respectively stars the female lead and male lead of this show and are very good. Kingdom of course remains basically perfect. Riveting to the end and up there with all-time classics like 28 Days Later or Shaun of the Dead, which like this are fantastic stories first, and zombie stories second.
Feb 06, 2021Kingdom's second season finally brought the series to a (seemingly) closed end, although teasing out some promising continuations. It maintained the suspense and political clashes of its first season, while bringing the action to another level.
Dec 22, 2020really good, binge-worthy, hard to stop watching. I sit on the edge of my seat throughout the whole event of this series wondering how much worse it could possibly get for the poor prince...the answer mostly, is a lot, a lot worse.
Nov 12, 2020For me the second season was better than the first, this is one of the best series of zombies, I hope they renew for the third season. I advise you to see !!!
Sep 15, 2020the best Zombie TV series ever made
Sep 10, 2020I enjoyed this show. Despite the industry being saturated with zombie shows I thought this was a very entertaining take . Especially season 1. Season 2 I found a little more boring
Sep 01, 2020Outstanding show! Like a Korean version of Game of Thrones, but without the long drawn out plot points that go nowhere. Very concise and to the point. Action packed and full of intrigue. Cinematography was excellent and the Korean visuals were beautiful. Best show on Netflix.
