Taylor Sheridan's Landman picks up right where the first left off: mediocre writing, borrowing liberally from the tone of Friday Night Lights, featuring performances that are better than the show deserves, and somehow remaining wildly entertaining.

Loved season 1, really wanted to love season 2, but the whole show devolved into "rich people get away with shit, and here’s how they do it." Boring, slow (because it became evident the writers lost their spine, and ultimately everyone always gets away fine with no real consequences for their actions (or inaction), whether it’s dealing with cartel, avoiding woke roommates, taking old folks for drunken joy rides, or even murder. All I’m sayin is that season 3 better end up with Ainsley’s head dumped in Tommy’s bed, after the charmed life snooze fest that was season 2.

Billy Bob Thornton is always excellent, was disappointed in female characterizations and storylines, took woman decades backwards. I was embarrassed for the female actresses, hopefully this improves for the next season or I’m not going to watch the show, bad enough I have to watch on paramount.

Still great idea from Christian Wallace and very well written by Taylor Sheridan. Whole cast excels in character. Just LOVE it! Great story. The new faces brings a breath of fresh air. Amazing cinematography adds relevant ambiance to settings. Well, for one thing, pixies and fairies don't make for roughnecks, true that. And get tough guys to play tough guys, no walk - like - a - girl guys (just some side notes to Sheridan 😜) Great to see some of the real life struggles in oil, albeit with Hollywood flavor. Still very entertaining, gripping and engaging. Oh, and the only two reasons I will stop watching this, still, are the wife🙄 and the daughter🙄 (and Ps Ps, this show reminds me to give thanks every day that I am SINGLE! 🙌🏻 )
