Liar has just enough twists to make it more than just another thriller -- though its treatment of sensitive issues leaves something to be desired. Read critic reviews

Much better than I was expecting after having read some of the other reviews on here! A perfectly acceptable whodunnit! Watch it and make your own mind up about it. I did and I am glad I did.

The series was definitely portrayed in a way to leave us scratching our heads, feeling somewhat a detective ourselves. Very gripping and realistic to modern society, fantastic actors also!

Fairly well put-together crime meets family drama short series. Not a complete waste of time.

I found that the story line had great potential to lead me to a great ending. However, after the first 5 and a half episodes left me wanting more and expecting a big twist ,as the episodes hinted, I was left wanting a less traditional and cliché ending to the entire show. I feel that the constant character suspense was thrilling whilst Laura was so stretched as a character that it was too far fetched that to believe she had so much depth. After being revealed she did in fact murder Andrew I was still favouring Andrew as a character than Laura and overall ruined the show for me.

I enjoyed this storyline - I liked how in the beginning the narrative sided with society into thinking she's the crazy women that couldn't control her drink and regrets being an easy drunk mess and that he's the handsome, kind, single parent surgeon who has lost his wife that would never harm a woman, if anything she would beg lucky to have gone on a date with him. I think Andrew(character name) is an exceptional actor - fantastic skills, great to watch- I really loved him at first then hated him, he made great instinctive choices. Charming , charismatic then cunning and evil. The laura character I felt was a good actor but her face irritated me she doesn't captivate at all and I'm not invested in her nor is she likable or charismatic. I enjoyed the Detective and also loved the fact that she was ethnic- in a cast full of white actors (only 2 are non white). Sad! hopefully season 2 will be different cast wise. Overall good watch and eye opening to assault and rape cases, hopefully helping people to keep an open mind and not judge based on what society tells us.

"certain skin color, male" has to be guilty. All others are portrayed with compassion and understanding, except, now that I recall another "male with certain skin color." Social justice and teaching the audience are the goals, sadly so predictable.

What a terrible setup and cheap writing on this how. I watched it because I loved the main actor in everything he has done and he still holds up in this, but everything around him is cheap lazy writing.

I think the poor ratings portray at least some small portion of the population unwilling to acknowledge the specific crimes the antagonist is committing. At least someone is tackling serial rapists and the fallout they leave behind. They also do a pretty decent job of portraying the police as an organization that could really care less about the 19+ women he raped and the woman he goaded into suicide. The media is also taken to task for their violence against the women who were his victims. Instead of treating them with sensitivity and understanding they are relentless in pursuing a woman suffering from PTSD. Good for them for finally portraying organizations that are supposed to protect and inform people and their failures to do their job. Police are terrible. So is the media.
