Based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson, this contemporary crime drama stars Australian actor Robert Taylor in the title role, the charismatic and dedicated sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyo. Longmire patrols the county with a brave face and sense of humor, but deep inside he hides the pain of his wife's recent death. With the urging of his daughter, Cady, and the help of Vic, a new female deputy, Longmire gains a new appreciation of his job and decides to run for re-election. He's committed to putting his life back together, one piece at a time, and he often calls on best friend and confidant Henry Standing Bear for support.

08/15/2022 My wife and I have been watching this series at one show per week and are now into Season 5. We think Episode 3 was the best in the series so far. There have been good and bad episodes throughout, but Episode 3 was as good as you can do with an hour-long TV detective story. The episode was beautifully constructed, all the important characters were represented, and their portrayals were beautifully nuanced throughout. My wife guessed the culprit before I did. So far, not a bad episode this season. Definitely an entertaining ensemble piece. I had to re-watch it to see if it was as good as I had thought, and it even made me shed a few tears. See more 08/19/2020 This is a great show. My only complaint is there has a lot of mistakes in the filming. Something will be in the scene one second and gone the next. I don't like seeing that many mistakes. Like when Henry puts the Indian and the sheriff toys in his safe, then when he reaches for the jar in the back of his safe those things are not there.
