The murder of French citizen Pierre Carnot brings French homicide investigator Kahina Zadi to Kiruna in Sweden, a small town in the Arctic Circle at a time of the year when the sun doesn't set. Teaming up with Swedish detectives Rutger Burlin and Anders Harnesk, the team embarks on an investigation that quickly takes on horrifying significance involving the Sami tribe, the local mining industry, and shadowy interests. As the number of bodies rapidly increases, Kahina must race to find the perpetrator and uncover the reasons behind the killings, as the case and the figures surrounding it begin to close in on her.
