Tv Season Info

In the eighth-series opener, a Mexican cartel tries to hurt Gibbs (Mark Harmon) by going after those he loves, and Gibbs must take extreme steps to protect them from harm. Later in the series, Robert Wagner reprises his role as Tony's (Michael Weatherly) father. His reappearance catches the entire team off guard, because he's there at the request of Gibbs, who asked for his help on a sensitive case. Also: Bob Newhart guest stars in the mid series episode "Recruited" as Dr. Walter Magnus, a former chief medical examiner for NCIS and former mentor to Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard(David McCallum).

NCIS does a good job of juggling a tense atmosphere with romantic entanglements and a tangible feeling of loss.

I'm not a nail biter but there were moments in this season premiere of NCIS, called "Spider and the Fly", that had me ready to start.

Oct 30, 2013 | Full Review…

With nuanced acting, sharp writing and some high-powered action, this was a solid episode of NCIS, wrapping up last season's long-running story arc appropriately and dramatically.

Audience Reviews for NCIS: Season 8

One of, if not the best season of the show, season 8 continues with the great cast and writing that viewers have come to expect while also bringing impressive character development, some of the most intriguing and talented guest stars, and several of the best story lines and villains that are all intricately woven throughout the season.

I have always been a fan of crime fighting television series from Law and Order to The Librarian, fiction or non-fiction it doesn’t matter to me. There is something about watching crimes being solved and justice being served that gives me a good feeling inside. The cast of the show has changed slightly over the years, adding and removing characters. The greatest group I believe ever worked together was that of Tony DiNozzo, Tim McGee, Ziva David and the great Leroy Jethro Gibbs. They each have their own set of skills and they all play their own role in the team. They are a group of people that are all very different but if you watch the show throughout the years, you’ll find that without one, the team doesn’t function as well. I really like that the producer chose the actors and put them in the places they are in because if you moved on person to a different role, the how would not be the same.
