The reason is that the show became embarrassed by what made them a hit in the first place; a simple late nite premium cable channel soft porn production of a time-honored soft porn book genre, The Bodice Ripper. As the shows became more Hallmark movie, and more worried about how all this will look to the kids who are quick to cancel, the more the ratings have dropped. Season 8 has so much story to pack into the finale. What happened to Faith, will the Frasers survive the American Revolution, will Frank's predictions come true. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe were perfectly cast as our beloved Jamie and Claire. Episode 2 directed by Caitriona was so beautifully done. Im excited for the rest of the season, but also mourning the end. The prequel Blood of My Blood (season 1 so far) is excellent, but the OG show is irreplaceable. See more LISA V @Lizzy838 Mar 10 Hats off to the actors for managing to deliver some of the corniest lines in televised history. How they manage to keep straight faces on camera is a real discipline. My cringe meter hit the red several times. The opening episode becomes somewhat convoluted as it progresses. Too many references to days long past. Ultimately, Jamie and Claire are adorable as they stumble through the past, heading for an unknown future. This is the last series, and it is about time. See more J R @Genevieve15 Mar 9 Looking forward to this season as it develops and curious to see who the Cunninghams reveal themselves to be ….. They appear to be the arch enemies of this season. However, as much as I loved the episode, I thought we were all sort of catapulted into the first scene with Vasquez and forced to watch in complete confusion only to have it explained shortly after. The scene where the family was reunited had the expected emotion displayed. Conversely , Remind me never to build a beautiful house forJamie and Claire if I expect an appropriate level of gratitude expressed in emotion.lol.
