A great show where the main character is very unlikable and slowly starts to change over the season. I like that they didn't change him too much, there is still room to grow.

It's a good show but nothing new. another alien invasion from James gunn for the next season move away from alien crap it's getting old . The Suicide Squad (2021) movie was way better. Peacemaker the character is fine nothing too special the show adds to his backstory but it's nothing that we haven't seen before from other movies. honestly, it should have been 6 episodes, not 9 I kinda forgot what the first 3 were about and I watch the whole show in one day so that is saying something. the rest of the characters are not that interesting, but not bad characters.

This show is hilarious. Did pretty well with balancing the jokes and serious moments. John Cena is easily the best part. He fit peacemaker perfectly and really makes the show what it is. Not everything was perfect but it didnt have to be because the show is just enjoyable to watch.

Abhorrent for the sake of edginess? Antisemetic. Slurs are traumatic. They remind people of hateful trauma. Its unacceptable, violent, disgusting. Entirely overshadowing any possibility for a scene or episode or series to be enjoyed when a person has to consider the trauma that had to be survived for something so hateful to be experienced again so casually

Giving James Gunn access to make his own HBO show was an excellent idea. Letting John Cena star in it as the titular Peacemaker was even better. The show, which takes place after the events of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, is a vehicle for action and hilarity all through the surprisingly perfect lens of Cena's acting. Of course the character Peacemaker is written in the vein of Cena's WWE personality, so one might say that he's been practicing for years, but otherwise this is certainly Cena's best performance. Peacemaker is brash, foolish, overconfident, and inappropriate in delightful ways and the cast around Cena shines as well. The first name that comes to mind is Danielle Brooks, perhaps made most famous by playing Taystee on Orange is the New Black. Brooks plays the new hire on a black ops team with Peacemaker. Her character, Leota, is an anxious bumbling mess who knows more than she lets on initially. Another standout is Robert Patrick as Peacemaker's father and weapons designer Auggie Smith. Patrick's character is an acidic racist and his rants are rife with homophobic language. Auggie Smith is far from the hero, but he's made compelling by Patrick's performance. The series premise isn't all that different from The Suicide Squad: "Do what we want and we will let you go and/or not blow you up using the tracking bomb that's planted inside of your skull." But it's clear that it never needs to be anything more than that because the whole project is held together using profanity and silliness and it all works quite well. Some of the scenes have the "SNL problem" wherein they take a funny premise and then explore it for too long until the viewers are rolling their eyes waiting for the scene to switch, but some of that is to be expected in the vast amounts of bro comedy that viewers are exposed to. Ultimately Peacemaker is exactly what it wants to be and it's executed near perfectly. It's a whole lot of bloody fun led by a capable cast and overseen by someone who is quickly becoming the go-to name for zany comic book mayhem.
