Critic Reviews for Perpetual Grace LTD Season 1

This is fantastic television, reminiscent of classic noirs and the way the Coen brothers played with the genre in works like Blood Simple and Fargo.

The detail in every word spoken, to the very speed the story is told, both melodic and methodical, all give such an intimate view of its characters, all having lost something and wanting to gain some semblance of redemption back for past misdeeds.

Perpetual Grace LTD is exhilarating and infectious, so much so that I find myself walking around my house humming lines of dialogue.

Jul 10, 2019 | Full Review…

Perpetual Grace LTD is worth watching less for its plot -- which is fun and twisty but also not exactly anything new -- and much more for its overall vibe.

Jun 21, 2019 | Full Review…

Perpetual Grace is like nothing that is on right now, and it's clear that was the intent by executive producers Steve Conrad and Bruce Terris.

Jun 10, 2019 | Full Review…

Created by Steve Conrad, whose quirky Amazon espionage puzzler "Patriot" won admirers for its slow-simmered, reverse-engineered plots and extra-dry humor. Here it's even dryer.

Guzmán is a desperate delight. Weaver looks like a maternal White Walker, and Kingsley is Sexy Beast-ing as one very dire wolf.

A new series I highly recommend.

The story of Perpetual Grace, LTD should get better as it plays out, but the performances are going to be what keeps us interested.

Jun 3, 2019 | Full Review…

"Perpetual Grace" relies on lugubrious and lengthy flashbacks shot in black-and-white, so exaggeratedly haunted that heavy-handed veins of quirk, when they surface, seem less like counterpoint and more like jarring, unpleasant contrast.

I just watched the entire season and I have no idea what is going on?

Good show. Kinda Fargo-esque. But actually gets weirder than that. Quirky well thought out unpredictable (for the most part) plot twists. Dialogue is a bit too cutesy at times in attempts to be clever. But it is funny, weird and engaging. If you like that type of thing, you'll like this.

Fantastic, quirky writing.. every twist and every line of dialog fresh and innovative. Actors are all first rate too. Best thing on TV right now.
  • Jul 24, 2019
One of the most engaging new shows, fresh ideas and outstanding performances.

A lot of the great cast from "Patriot" is back for Steve Conrad, plus Ben Kingsley and others. It shouldn't work, it's so quirky, but it does. Chris Conrad is another flawed but sympathetic character. Great show!
