Pluto seems unusually in control of its individuality and its influences, maybe due to its lineage as an adaptation of a manga series that riffs on another manga series. Go to Full Review

“Pluto” is a truly masterful anime, one of those that are chiefly directed to a more mature audience due to its narrative intricacy, and definitely among the best titles of the year. Go to Full Review

The tension between humans and robots is a poignant parallel to real-world discrimination, especially since the main robot characters have complex lives and personalities that reject the notion that futuristic AI is merely machinery. Go to Full Review

The series’ central whodunnit falls a little flat, but it more than makes up for it with impeccable emotional arcs. Go to Full Review

Pluto’s adaptation is a strong contender for one of the best anime of the year, but it’s also just one of the best new shows on Netflix, period. Go to Full Review

... Perfect if we need another good dose of Urasawa and Nagasaki. And on top of that, it comes with a spectacular tribute to Tezuka's Astro Boy with impeccable animation and beautiful cinematography, you couldn't ask for more. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Gary L Oct 5 greatness... is this movie See more Maksymilian P Jul 14 Pluto is an interesting and oryginal story, but extremally unpolished and honestly boring. It does have its moments, but they are far in between. The story itself also has many contradictions and the setting is quite nonsensical, in other words, the attention to detail is next to non existent. However I will say, that the animation is impressive and the visuals pretty. See more João Gabriel T Mar 23 From the creator of "MONSTER", we have another masterpiece and a freshly PERFECT reboot on Astro Boy. Im sure there are animes that tried making one of the oldest mangas dark and griddy in the mordern days, like 009: Re-Cyborg, a movie that is a sequel to the Cyborg 009 manga/anime by Shotaro Ishonomori directed Kenji Kamiyama, some people hate it. But Pluto as the reboot of Astro Boy 100% suprasses them. See more Harold P Mar 20 Absolutely amazing show another masterpiece from Urasawa. See more A N 10/07/2024 Very good arcs. The filler content is a bit high, but they make it worth watching with absolutely amazing storytelling and the music being especially good. See more Nobillis M @Nobillis 08/22/2024 This takes the old, cartoony, Astro Boy story and turns it into a beautiful, modern anime drama. It’s visually amazing. The first episode is very slow, but the pace of the story picks up dramatically after that. See more Read all reviews
