Pluto seems unusually in control of its individuality and its influences, maybe due to its lineage as an adaptation of a manga series that riffs on another manga series. Go to Full Review

“Pluto” is a truly masterful anime, one of those that are chiefly directed to a more mature audience due to its narrative intricacy, and definitely among the best titles of the year. Go to Full Review

The tension between humans and robots is a poignant parallel to real-world discrimination, especially since the main robot characters have complex lives and personalities that reject the notion that futuristic AI is merely machinery. Go to Full Review

The series’ central whodunnit falls a little flat, but it more than makes up for it with impeccable emotional arcs. Go to Full Review

Pluto’s adaptation is a strong contender for one of the best anime of the year, but it’s also just one of the best new shows on Netflix, period. Go to Full Review

... Perfect if we need another good dose of Urasawa and Nagasaki. And on top of that, it comes with a spectacular tribute to Tezuka's Astro Boy with impeccable animation and beautiful cinematography, you couldn't ask for more. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Aidan R. @RT64283839 May 30 First, I'd like to say that most dubs tend to suffer from poor voice acting, but this dub was superb. The animation was great, and the pacing was excellent throughout. While there wasn't a lot of action, it was still very enjoyable. I loved the mystery and the story. Overall, I'd give it a 5/5. See more Ry N @RyGuy Apr 6 Gesicht, an Europol robot inspector, investigates the last seven WMD robots and their human companions being picked off as an AI named Pluto seems to be wreaking havoc during a Persian War. The series is filled with unexpected moments and serves as a nice "prequel" to Astro Boy. See more Igor S @Igor_Sena Feb 8 The first 2 or 3 episodes were some of the best stuff i've seen in a while. Then, it got to be a bit repetitive and filled with too much exposition. But that's how animes usually go, and a story like this requires quite a bit of it, so i can't complain too much. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely worth a watch See more Geoffrey D @gdowdle Feb 6 Some of the parts feel a little slow and made me wonder their purpose but it more than made up for it when it would introduce a robot, tell a story that humanized it so you care about it, and just in the moment you're in denial that you're actually emotionally invested in it, the show would rip them away from you and then you're left there wishing they could come back. See more Gary L @crazymanford Oct 5 greatness... is this movie See more Maksymilian P @RT12397033 Jul 14 Pluto is an interesting and oryginal story, but extremally unpolished and honestly boring. It does have its moments, but they are far in between. The story itself also has many contradictions and the setting is quite nonsensical, in other words, the attention to detail is next to non existent. However I will say, that the animation is impressive and the visuals pretty. See more Read all reviews
