The fourth series of this medical drama opens with the staff at Oceanside Wellness Center dealing with the loss of a colleague. More tough times follow when Addison (Kate Walsh) loses a family member and Charlotte (KaDee Strickland) is brutally attacked by an unstable patient. On the romantic front, Violet (Amy Brenneman) and Pete (Tim Daly) get married; Charlotte and Cooper (Paul Adelstein) plan their wedding; and Addison and Sam (Taye Diggs) decide to give their romance a real try, despite how difficult this is for Naomi (Audra McDonald). However, it's not smooth sailing for Addison and Sam, because they disagree about having children together.

I thought this finale of Private Practice was well done. It had the usual flair for dramatic, some nice eye candy, serious issues involving Violet and the practice, and the cliffhanger involving Pete.
