An alien crashes on Earth and hides in a remote Colorado mountain town. After assuming the identity of the town doctor, Harry Vanderspeigle, his nefarious mission to kill all humans is threatened when he realizes one of the townspeople, a 9-year-old boy, can see his true alien form. Harry starts off living a simple life, but things get a bit rocky when he's roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world and slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth.

It's a nice send-up of various genres, based on the Dark Horse comic books. However, it feels too slight to warrant hour-long episodes and would perhaps be snappier in half-hour bites.

Average. Not horrible but not amazing either. I love Alan Tudyk and this is a cool concept but the show is too PG13. The characters are annoying and It’s more of a comedy drama than a sci-fi.

Starts great but gets to woke and girl power in season 2. They drop the things that make it interesting, the mystery, the coverup, the alienation to modern society. and start bringing in womens power issues yikes. Season 2 is worse by a lot

For light entertainment, resident alien was pretty funny – – until about episode eight and then it just got really stupid. The thing that made it funny was the lead character in his deadpan delivery of in-character comments that were inappropriate in this world. But the plot surrounding him became more and more contrived, as if the writers didn't think the show would last that long and didn't plan ahead. Inspiration became insipid The show became virtually unwatchable in the last few episodes of season one and I'm not even gonna embark on season two.
