Critic Consensus: The subversive Review lures viewers with a seemingly innocuous hook and gradually reveals a disturbing commitment to its high concept, making for one of the darkest - and uproarious - of comedies.

Tv Season Info
With every passing week it becomes clearer what an incredible arc star and creator Andy Daly has planned for the season.
It's the dad-like squarishness of Daly, who created and executive produces Review, that solidifies the series and makes it so uncommonly entertaining. Forrest has created a hell for himself, one that's being broadcast in weekly installments.
The results are hit-and-miss but often very funny. Daly has a high-speed sensibility that doesn't sacrifice intellect for the sake of a joke.
What makes Review so good is Andy Daly's cherubic face and earnest portrayal of Forrest, paired with such bleakness.
It's a strange and somewhat twisted program, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being the funniest show to premiere in 2014.
